A headless CMS such as Sanity can make content editing straightforward without exposing the underlying website code. However, structural or design changes will usually still require a developer.

WordPress is not simply being replaced by newer technologies. Instead, the web industry is becoming more diverse.
Traditional content management systems, hosted website builders, headless platforms, and custom frameworks will continue to coexist because they solve different problems.

My Perspective
I do not believe there is a single “best” website platform.
For some projects, WordPress is absolutely the right solution. It offers a mature content management environment, a large ecosystem, and considerable flexibility.
For other projects, a modern framework such as Next.js may provide greater control over design, performance, and future development. When combined with a headless CMS, it can also offer a clear and structured content editing experience.
The most suitable choice depends on the purpose of the website, the required functionality, the available budget, and who will maintain it after launch.
Technology should serve the goals of the project—not the other way around.
As a web designer and developer, my role is not to promote one platform for every situation. It is to understand each project and select an approach that provides the right balance of usability, flexibility, performance, and long-term maintainability.
