Client
Private grooming salon (Tokyo)

Background

The client needed a website that reflects a calm, home-like atmosphere while clearly communicating services and building trust with visitors.

The local market includes a wide range of competitors, from high-end salons targeting affluent clients to large-scale commercial brands. To differentiate the brand, the focus was placed on its identity as a private, appointment-based salon offering a calm and personal experience.

Challenges

As a solo business owner with a busy schedule, the client required a low-maintenance website without features such as inquiry forms or frequent updates. The site was intended primarily as an informational resource rather than a tool for active customer acquisition.

The visual direction needed to balance a sense of warmth and familiarity without appearing overly luxurious, in order to resonate with local clients (primarily women across a wide age range) seeking comfort and trust.

These constraints required a design that prioritizes simplicity, clarity, and ease of maintenance.

Brand & Visual Design

  • Logo design and vectorization (Illustrator)
  • Visual identity refinement
  • Promotional materials and advertisements

In addition to the website, I developed a custom logo and visual assets to create a consistent brand identity. The original abstract visuals were refined into a clean and recognizable logo, later converted into vector format for scalability.Promotional materials and advertisements were also designed to align with the brand’s tone and positioning. This helped establish a cohesive and recognizable brand across both digital and print materials.

Outcome

The website successfully communicates the salon’s atmosphere and services, providing a clear and comfortable experience for visitors. It also supports the client’s workflow by enabling flexible updates, such as displaying pop-up messages when appointments are unavailable. This allows the client to manage customer expectations efficiently while maintaining a low-maintenance operation.
